Hello GOALS families!
We are very excited to kick off the 2011 GOALS season this Wednesday and to welcome back last year's families and greet new ones. Here's what to expect on Wednesday:
Arrival
We encourage families to arrive after 5:30 but before 6pm. Please park in the designated private parking lot as detailed in your confirmation packet. Your family will be greeted by Rex the Rhino as you enter the stadium and directed to a GOALS sign in table. Your family will be asked to sign in and then will be directed to the field. Your family is welcome to "play" on the field as families arrive.
Soccer Time
After all families arrive, we will gather as one large team in the center of the field. Opening remarks will be shared by staff from the Pieters Family Life Center and Bill Sedgewick, Assistant Coach of the Rochester Rhinos- the main force behind Giving Opportunities to Athletes who Love Soccer.

Bill Sedgewick |
Bill Sedgewick, known at GOALS as "Coach Bill" is entering his second year as an assistant coach with the Rochester Rhinos. Sedgewick began his career with the Rhinos as a player in 1999 and was a member of the Rhinos until 2005. As a Rhino Sedgewick ranks in the top five in games played, starts, and minutes. For his efforts he was named to the Rhinos tenth anniversary "Elite Eleven" squad which honored the best players in team history. As a player Sedgewick established himself as a leader in the Rochester community through his charitable work. In 2004, after befriending a local child who had been stricken with cancer, Bill established his "Quaters for Cancer" Fund which rasies money to benefit children and their families as they fight cancer. Bill is a native of Colorado. Coach Bill will be present each GOALS night throughout the summer.
