For his efforts he was named to the Rhinos tenth anniversary "Elite Eleven" squad which honored the best players in team history. As a player Sedgewick established himself as a leader in the Rochester community through his charitable work. In 2004, after befriending a local child who had been stricken with cancer, Bill established his "Quaters for Cancer" Fund which rasies money to benefit children and their families as they fight cancer.
