Final GOALS Night of the 2011 Season!

Hello GOALS families!

Another sign that Summer is winding down....the last night of Giving Opportunities to Athletes who Love Soccer at Sahlen's Stadium. We look forwarding to seeing you tomorrow night as we have some soccer fun!

Some important notes about tomorrow night:

- It's our last night playing soccer in Sahlen's Stadium and with the players from the Rochester Rhinos. Please feel free to invite your family members who have not been out to GOALS before!

- We will be taking RSVP's (more info below) for the end of the season GOALS banquet on Wednesday, August 31st. If you are planning on attending the banquet (and we hope you are!) you need to RSVP.

- Take some great GOALS pictures this year? We'd love to use them for our photo slideshow at the banquet. Pictures burned onto a cd would be a big help! If that doesn't work for you, please consider printing out your favorite GOALS photo of the year and sharing it with us. Thanks for your consideration.

Banquet Information
The Pieters Family Life Center will be hosting the end of the season Giving Opportunities to Athletes who Love Soccer banquet on Wednesday, August 31st from 6 to 8pm. This banquet will include a buffet dinner, awards presentation, and some special surprises. This is the last GOALS activity of the 2011season and we hope you can attend!

Banquet FAQ:

Where is the banquet?
It's at the Pieters Family Life Center located at 1025 Commons Way in Henrietta. For directions, please visit http://www.pietersfamilylifecenter.org/ or call us at 487-3500.

Do I need to RSVP?
YES! We require an RSVP to attend the banquet. This helps us immensely as we order food, set up tables and chairs, and prepare for an awesome night! Please RSVP by emailing Catalina Johnson at cjohnson@pietersfamilylifecenter.org or by signing the RSVP sheet on 8/24.

Can I bring the entire family?
While space and seating is limited, we recognize that families constitute our GOALS team. Our general rule of thumb on this one: if family members came to GOALS nights throughout the season, we welcome them to the banquet. If family members would like to experience GOALS for the first time, we encourage them to attend the last night at Sahlen's Stadium on August 24th.

What does the banquet cost?
There is no charge for the banquet, but we do have a suggested family donation of $20. This donation will help us cover the cost of the banquet (we've added some perks not funded by foundation partners). Cash and checks made payable to "Pieters Family Life Center" are accepted.

What should I wear?
This is a causal event. We encourage GOALS participants to wear their jerseys! There will not be any soccer activities this night, so no need to wear "soccer shoes" or "uniforms'. Be comfortable!

You didn't answer my question!
Woops, sorry. If you have any additional questions please email Catalina Johnson at cjohnson@pietersfamilylifecenter.org or see a Pieters Family Life Center representative (Catalina, Dustin, or Andrew) on 8/24.

Last Chance to Cheer on the Rhinos!
The Rochester Rhinos host the Harrisburg City Islanders in the USL PRO National Division Final Friday, August 26th at 7:30PM in Sahlen’s Stadium.  The Rhinos advanced to the division final with a 4:0 victory over the Pittsburgh Riverhounds last Friday night.  Tyler Rosenlund, Tony Donatelli, Isaac Kissi, and Drew Cost all scored goals for Rochester while keeper Neal Kitson kept a clean sheet.

See you Wednesday!

We're Back! Giving Opportunities to Athletes who Love Soccer.

We're Back!!

Greetings GOALS team members and families,

We here at the Pieters Family Life Center and the Rochester Rhinos hope you had a great mid-summer break full of family fun. We have an action packed August for you to finish off the 2011 GOALS season.

This month we have four GOALS activities scheduled for you:

August 10th: regular GOALS night
August 13th: GOALS night at Sahlens Stadium, Rochester Rhinos vs. Pittsburgh Riverhounds (please see additional information below)
August 24th: regular GOALS night
August 31st: GOALS end of season banquet at the Pieters Family Life Center
If you have any questions about any of these dates or activities please feel free to email us at info@pietersfamilylifecenter.org.

GOALS night Wednesday, August 10th
We welcome everyone back for another night of soccer fun with your GOALS teammates and players from the Rochester Rhinos. We welcome back the girls from the Brighton Stormers Thunder travel soccer team who will again volunteer with us.
An important note about Wednesday: The Rochester Rhinos are holding tryouts for their elite youth travel team. The tryouts have the field until 6pm. There will be a slight moment of transition between the tryouts and GOALS. We welcome your assistance in setting up the field so we may start on time.

GOALS night Saturday, August 13th
The Rochester Rhinos game vs. the Pittsburgh Riverhounds on Saturday, August 13th is a very special night for the Giving Opportunities to Athletes who Love Soccer team! GOALS will be formally recognized by the Rochester Rhinos during this game. All GOALS players and family members will:
- Be on the field for pre-game warm-ups
- Escort the Rochester Rhinos onto the field as part of a "GOALS parade"
- Be at midfield with the Rhinos during the singing of the national anthem
- Be a part of a team picture with the Rochester Rhinos after the national anthem.
- Represent Giving Opportunities to Athletes who Love Soccer by cheering on the Rochester Rhinos as they take on the Pittsburgh Riverhounds.

The Pieters Family Life Center has obtained 60 tickets for this game and will distribute them on Wednesday night to families who are able to attend. If you have a Pro Pass, we ask you to use it for the game so we may allocate tickets to families who do not have Pro Passes. We encourage all families who are able to attend this game to please do so. Be sure to wear your jerseys! Detailed information and instructions will be handed out on Wednesday.

End of the Year GOALS Banquet on Wednesday, August 31st
To celebrate the end of a great season, we invite all of you to the Giving Opportunities to Athletes who Love Soccer end of the year banquet at the Pieters Family Life Center. This banquet will be an opportunity to finish off your GOALS season with the friends you made over the course of the summer.
The banquet will be held from 6 to 8pm at the Pieters Family Life Center and will include a meal, awards, and some special surprises. We hope all of you will be able to attend! Please take a moment to sign the banquet RSVP sign in on August 10th or August 24th. More information will be provided in person on GOALS night.

Rex says, "See you Wednesday!"
