We are now officially half way through the 2011 GOALS season. Feedback from all of you has been positive and we are thankful for the suggestions you have offered as to where we can improve. This is a true collaborative effort between the Pieters Family Life Center, the Rochester Rhinos, and YOU! Thank you for your ongoing support.
GOALS night June 22nd
Last Wednesday was another great night for Giving Opportunities to Athletes who Love Soccer! The sun came out just in the nick of time as over 100 players, coaches, and family members took the field.
We were pleased to welcome the head coach of the Rochester Rhinos, Bob Lilley, who had a chance to jump into the soccer action with the kids, teens, and adults of GOALS. We are thankful for Coach Lilley's ongoing support of GOALS! This is Coach Lilley's second year as the Rhinos head coach and was selected as the 2010 USSF Division 2 coach of the year after leading the Rhinos to the USSF Division 2 regular season championship.
We would also like to thank Gates Metros of the Rochester District Youth Soccer League for sharing their passion for soccer with members of the GOALS team! Coach Ernest Fokue of the Metros says, ""Taking part in events like GOALS naturally dovetails with our
mission at Gates International Metros,
namely transcend the boundaries of the soccer field and ultimately
reach and express the fullness
of human potential."
Goooo Rhinoooos!
Many players from the Rochester Rhinos have visited us on GOALS night and shared their passion for soccer with members of the GOALS team. They've cheered us on during our soccer scrimmages and sat and had dinner with us. Now it is time for GOALS to return the favor! The Rhinos have some important home games coming up and they'd love to see the red and white of GOALS uniforms in the stands cheering them on.
The Rochester Rhinos will be hosting the Chicago Fire of the MLS in the third round of the US Open Cup on Tuesday, June 28th at 7:30 pm. This is sure to be a great game and the Rhinos need our support! Pro Passes are valid for this game.
On Friday, July 1st the Rhinos will begin a month of charitable giving to benefit charitable organizations in the community that supports Rochester soccer. On July 1st the Rhinos play the Richmond Kickers and will benefit Camp Good Days and Special Times.
Look forward to seeing you at the games!
Next GOALS night is Wednesday, July 6th
Have a fun and safe 4th of July!
